What we offer

Changing Gears

Moving Up or Changing Direction?

Changing Gears is a comprehensive program which assists individuals in exploring their career options, looking to a promotion or even a change of direction. We will assist the individual to develop a clear strategy, identify opportunities or entry points into the new markets and address any hurdles that may be in the way. They are also given the tools to best represent themselves in a competitive employment market.

Program components

 Introduction

This initial component introduces the individual to the program and assists the Consultant to get to know them, their background, professional experience, and career aspirations.

Career Counselling

Focussing on the current nature of the employment market, this component explores the particular challenges in transitioning into new roles / sectors.  Assisting them to define their own skills and attributes and to think as broadly as possible about where those attributes might be most in demand, is the desired outcome. Individuals should have a clearer sense of what options they are looking to pursue, a plan to take forward and where they will most likely succeed.

Resume Building

The consultant will work with the individual to craft a market ready curriculum vitae which translates their previous experience in a way that accurately represents what they have achieved to date and which is both easily understood and attractive to potential employers.

Social Media Review

This would also include a review of their social media presence, particularly their LinkedIn profile which is likely to be one of the first sources of information accessed by recruiters and potential employers.

Application Letter

A cover letter which would need to be adapted for specific job applications would also be drafted.

Interview Skills

We will work with the individual to polish their interview technique, paying particular attention to listening skills and answering questions in a way which reassures employers.

Skills honed in this session can also be refined in preparation for specific job interviews further down the track.

Networking Support

Employment opportunities often arise through personal networks rather than through more formal avenues. As such, we work with the individual to explore their personal and professional networks to identify people who might be able to assist them.

We work with them to refine how they would approach conversations within your networks that could prove positive in your job search.  Additional support will be provided in identifying useful networks within specific sectors.

Sector targeting

Working with individuals to identify sectors which appeal to them and where they may be more likely to secure employment will be a key focus of this section. Options for consideration are varied.

Analysis will include options available within desirable sectors, suitable access points and where those opportunities might lead.

Ongoing support

The consultant will stay in email/phone contact with the participant for a period of 6 months, assisting with ongoing support and advice, particularly in relation to specific job applications.

Delivery

Each session is tailored to suit the individual’s needs and the majority are delivered via Zoom or Teams.

Resources

Participants will be provided with fact sheets, templates and tips for future use.

Getting Job Fit

Everything you need to make an impact in the job market.

Job Fit is designed for individuals who have a clear idea on their future direction and want some practical assistance in entering or re-entering the employment market.
